Eight Rohingyas detained while being trafficked to India
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) yesterday detained eight Rohingyas while they were being trafficked to India through Satkhira border on Friday evening.
The Rohingyas -- five women, a man and two children -- were handed over to Satkhira Sadar police, said Nayek Subedar Jahir Hasan of BGB Kushkhali Border Outpost.
A human trafficking gang brought them to Shikri village in Satkhira from Chittagong to send them to India, said the BGB official.
Mamun Reza, an assistant sub-inspector of the police station, said preparation for sending the Rohingyas back to the refugee camp in Cox's Bazar was underway.
