DNCC drive takes down 50 illegal structures

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) in an eviction drive yesterday reclaimed 10,000 square feet of space, taking down some 50 illegal structures in the city's Mirpur-2 and Rupnagar areas.

DNCC Executive Magistrate Sajid Anwar led the eviction drive, that continued for two and a half hours from 12 noon.

The executive magistrate also fined Tk 25,000 each to GLG Estate Ltd, AR Land Mark, Doulat Properties Ltd, and owner of Plot-14 at Road-2 under Block-B in Mirpur Section-2 for obstructing public movement by keeping construction materials on the roads.

He also gave a 48-hour deadline to move the construction materials from the streets.

Medicas Hospital of Rupnagar was also fined Tk 25,000 for constructing a shed illegally, and was also given 48-hour time to remove it.
