DB arrests 2 more in Sudipto murder case
Detectives of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) early yesterday arrested two more individuals accused in the murder case of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader Sudipto Biswas.
The two -- Rajibul Islam Rajib, 21, and Mamunur Rahman Rabbi, 20 -- were arrested at AK Khan Staff Quarter in Bagghona area of the city under Khulshi Police Station.
Asif Mohiuddin, DB's assistant commissioner (port zone), told The Daily Star that they arrested the two after their names were mentioned in the confessional statements given by other arrestees in the case.
So far, including the latest two, police have arrested a total of eight people, most of whom are activists of BCL and Jubo League.
Sudipto, assistant secretary of BCL Chittagong city unit and also a student of Government City College, was killed allegedly by a group of BCL and Jubo League activists in front of his house at Nalapara area on October 6 last year.
