Ctg 'hitman' arrested in Dhaka
Police arrested an alleged murderer in the capital's Jatrabari area early yesterday.
Hanif alias Matha Mota Hanif alias Mota Hanif, 28, is an accused in four murder cases filed with Sadarghat and Kotwali police stations in Chittagong, said police.
Hanif, son of Kamal, is from Comilla, said Sadarghat Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ruhul Amin.
A fishmonger in Kamal Gate area of Sadarghat, Hanif works as a “hired killer”, he added.
The four murder cases were filed from 2013 to 2016.
In 2013, Hanif was arrested on the charge of killing Goni, an alleged hooligan of Madarbari, said the inspector, adding that he received bail two years later.
He allegedly murdered a jhut [scrap fabrics from garment factories] trader, Kamal from Madarbari area on March 15, 2016.
Later, Hanif along with his accomplices shot another goon named Idrish in Shahebpara area of Sadarghat on April 7, 2016.
He is also an accused in a case filed for killing a man, Mamun, inside Chittagong Municipal Model High School on January 11, 2016.
