Court seeks probe report by July 16

A Dhaka court yesterday again asked police to submit by July 16 the probe report on the case filed over the death of Rajib Hossain, a third-year student of Government Titumir College.

Metropolitan Magistrate Golam Nabi passed the order after Aftab Ali, sub-Inspector (SI) of Shahbagh Police Station failed to submit the probe report yesterday.

Meantime, another Dhaka court yesterday rejected the bail petition of Wahid Ali, 35, the driver of the BRTC bus which was involved in the incident.

Rajib lost his hand after it got stuck between two speeding buses trying to overtake each other in Bangla Motor area on April 3. Soon after the accident, he was taken to Samorita Hospital in Panthapath and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died on April 17.
