The High Court yesterday issued a contempt of court rule against five people, including the local government division secretary, for not complying with its order regrading regularising the job of Md Sheikh Sadek.

Hearing a contempt of court petition filed by Sadek, it asked the five to explain in four weeks why contempt of court proceedings should not be initiated against them.

The other four are: a deputy secretary concerned of the local government division, deputy commissioner of Pirojpur, its Nazirpur Upazila chairman, and Nazirpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer.

Following a writ petition, the HC in 2015 ordered the government to regularise Sadek’s job as an office assistant under the revenue budget in Nazirpur, said his lawyer Shamima Islam Mou.
