A daylong conference on “Accountability in Bangladesh: Issues & Debates”, organised by the Global Studies and Governance programme of the School of Liberal Arts and Social Science of IUB, was held at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) in the capital on March 29.

Vice Chancellor Prof M Omar Rahman inaugurated the event. Pro-VC Prof Milan Pagon and Prof Imtiaz A Hussain also spoke.

Among others, Dr Atiur Rahman, former governor of Bangladesh Bank; Dr Mizanur Rahman, former chairman of Bangladesh Human Rights Commission; Brig Gen (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, former election commissioner; and Dr Ataur Rahman, chairman of Center for Governance Studies, participated.
