CJ unhappy as Bangla not fully implemented at courts
Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha yesterday expressed sorrow as the use of mother language Bangla has not been fully introduced in the court proceedings.
“Though Bangla has been introduced at public offices, it has not yet been possible to implement this at courts.
I'm very sorry for that,” he said while talking to journalists after paying homage to the language heroes of 1952 at the Central Shaheed Minar in the capital.
The chief justice said some judges of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court have been writing judgements in Bangla that can be followed by others.
“We are trying to implement it in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court," he added.
The use of Bangla can be ensured if any technological invention translates the judgements delivered by the courts into Bangla, he said.
Some judges of the Appellate and High Court Divisions and SC officials were also present there.
