China teams up with UNDP to help flood victims
The Chinese government is teaming up with the UNDP in Bangladesh to help flood victims.
China will provide US $4 million to 13,910 families in Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Gaibandha and Bogra, said a UNDP statement yesterday.
Around 3,20,000 people are still in need of support to repair their homes and replace belongings, it adds.
UNDP Bangladesh in collaboration with the Department of Disaster Management will facilitate the process of providing emergency shelters and household items, including blankets.
Additionally, UNDP will also work with UNFPA to ensure that 14,000 flood-affected women and girls receive health packages.
