Brac ranked top NGO in world again

Brac has been ranked as the top non-government organisation in NGO Advisor's list of 500 best NGOs in the world this year.

The Geneva-based media organisation made the announcement yesterday after conducting a survey for one year upon the 500 best un-profitable NGOs across the world. The organisation operated the survey since 2009, said a Brac press release.

Oxfam got the fifth position while Save the Children and Grameen Bank became the 9th and 12th respectively.

Earlier in 2013, Brac became the best NGO under a survey of The Global Journal. In 2015, Brac got the second position.

Brac is conducting programmes including on poverty reduction, education and health in 12 countries. In his reaction, Brac Founder and Chairperson Sir Fazle Hasan Abed said the recognition came as its employees were involved in empowerment of poor people with their innovative works.
