Khulna boy stabbed dead at school

A seventh-grader was stabbed to death during a cultural programme at his school in Khulna on Saturday night.

Hearing screams, police, who were present on the Khulna Public College premises to ensure security, went backstage and found Sheikh Farhan Tanvir Rajin, 12, bleeding.

Rajin died at Khulna Medical College Hospital.

Police detained six people, including three of his classmates.

Rajin was stabbed as he protested stalking of his female friend, said police.

Victim's father Zahangir Alom, a resident of Boyra, sued six friends of Rajin.

The authorities declared the institution, which was celebrating its 31st founding anniversary, closed indefinitely.
