BGB to use Indian border roads for patrol
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will be able to use roads in remote areas of Indian territory for patrolling, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said today.
Bangladesh and India have taken the decision at a ministerial level to boost up border security, the home minister said at a press briefing after a three-day visit to India.
The minister also said he handed over list of wanted criminals to India to extradite them. However, he did not mention the names and the number of the criminals.
Expressing concern over border killings, he called upon his Indian counterpart to bring it down to zero-level. He also urged to make the visa process easy especially for the senior citizens and freedom fighters.
India assured of its help to fight against militancy and exchange information on all bilateral and multilateral areas in this regard.
The minister recently concluded a home minister-level meeting in India.
