Be more responsible
President Abdul Hamid yesterday asked police to perform their duties responsibly and neutrally for ensuring security in the society.
"Perform duty neutrally upholding democratic values and human rights," he told senior police officers while addressing a meeting at Bangabhaban marking Police Week 2018.
The president urged police personnel to serve the country and its people with utmost patriotism, honesty and sincerity being imbued with the spirit of the Liberation War.
Noting that "the rule of law" is very important in the democratic state and society, he said, "People usually go to your door when they are in trouble. You have to be more cordial so that each service-seeker can get uninterrupted service from you."
The president said people expect that Bangladesh Police will be established as a service-oriented and people-friendly institution.
