Bangladesh keen to invest $1b in power project with India, Bhutan
Bangladesh is willing to invest $ 1 billion in the 1125-MW Dorjilung Hydro-power project under trilateral cooperation with India and Bhutan.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali told this when newly appointed Bhutanese Ambassador Sonam Tobden Rabgye called on him at his ministry yesterday.
Ali particularly emphasised joint development of hydro-power projects and operationalisation of the BBIN (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal) Motor Vehicle Agreement, while Rabgye told the minister of development of his country's various sectors.
New High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam Hajah Masurai Haji Masri, too, called on Ali and talked about further strengthening ties between the two countries.
