Bangladesh elected member of three subsidiary bodies of ECOSOC
Bangladesh has been elected member of three subsidiary bodies of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
Fifty-four members of ECOSOC competed for the position. Bangladesh contested from the Asia and Pacific region, says a release of permanent mission of Bangladesh to the UN.
In Commission on the Status of Women, Bangladesh and Malaysia have been elected for a four-year term.
In Fund Management Council of Unicef, Bangladesh, Mongolia and Pakistan have been elected for a three-year term.
In UN Women Executive Board, India, Mongolia, Nepal and Saudi Arabia have been elected for a three-year term. All the terms will begin next year.
