WRIT SEEKING STAY ON DISTRICT COUNCIL POLLS DROPPED
A High Court bench today dropped from its cause list a writ petition that sought stay on the polls of Narayanganj district council to be held on December 28.
The bench of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Abu Taher Md. Saifur Rahman dropped the petition out of list saying the petitioners’ lawyer was late in moving the petition.
Petitioner’s lawyer Eunus Ali Akond told The Daily Star that the bench made the petition out of list as it was not inclined to hear the petition.
He said, he will move the petition before another bench of the High Court next week.
