Bahauddin acquitted of graft charges
A Dhaka court yesterday acquitted ruling Awami League's organising secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim of acquiring wealth beyond known income sources and concealing asset information.
Judge KM Imrul Kayes of the special judge court-6 pronounced the acquittal order in the presence of Bahaudding.
In the judgement, the judge said the prosecution has failed to prove the charges brought against him.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case with Ramna Model Police Station on November 21, 2007, accusing Nasim of amassing wealth worth Tk 1.83 crore without any known source of income and concealing information of wealth worth Tk 17.58 lakh.
ACC pressed charges on October 8, 2008.
