Asean Ladies Assoc donates food, clothes to orphans

Asean Ladies Association (ALA) in Dhaka yesterday donated various products including clothes and foods to the poor, sick and orphans of Missionaries of Charity at Shishu Bhaban in the capital's Islampur.

Alma Maria Bandillo, president of ALA and spouse of Philippine ambassador to Bangladesh, handed over the products to the head of the missionaries SR Xavier.

The ALA-Dhaka is a social organisation whose members consist of women from eight Asean [Association of Southeast Asian Nations] countries with resident diplomatic missions in Bangladesh. The countries are Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
