Anti-extremism workshop held
A three-day national workshop on “Countering Violent Extremism (CVE): Building Resilience and Capacity” was held in the capital.
Bangladesh Centre for Terrorism Research (BCTR), a specialised centre under Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS), organised the workshop that concluded in a Gulshan hotel on Thursday.
The workshop dwelled on vital issues including new terrorism trends, building regional cooperation, and role of the media.
BCTR's Research Fellow Shafqat Munir, Associate Editor of The Daily Star Brig Gen (retd) Shahedul Anam Khan, Research Analyst of the Institute of National Security Studies Sri Lanka Priyanka Moonseinghe, and Consultant Editor of the daily Prothom Alo Ayesha Kabir presented papers at the workshop attended by chief guest Maj Gen (retd) ANM Muniruzzaman, BIPSS president.
