ACC awards six journalists
The Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday awarded six journalists for their reporting against corruption in the country marking its corruption prevention week that started on Thursday.
From electronic media category of "Dudak Media Award-2015" (ACC media award), Parvez Nadir Reza, a senior reporter of Ekattor television, received first prize while Shahnaz Sharmeen, a senior reporter, and Sudip Kumar Dey, assistant news editor, of ABC radio jointly received second prize, said a press release.
From print media category, Kawsar Rahman, city editor of the daily Janakantha, received first prize while Md Mahamudul Hasan, staff correspondent of the New Age, got second prize and Shanaullah Sakib Tonu, staff reporter of the Bonik Barta, third prize. First prize recipients received a crest, a certificate and Tk 35,000 while second prize recipients Tk 25,000 and third prize recipients Tk 20,000 along with the crest and certificate each at a programme at the ACC office in the capital.
ACC Chairman Md Badiuzzaman, Commissioner Md Shahabuddin and Nasiruddin Ahmed handed over the award.
Meanwhile, as part of the celebration of the week to raise awareness against corruption, the ACC yesterday brought out a procession in the capital.
