Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday said the 9th Wage Board Award for newspaper journalists and employees will be announced in September this year.
He was talking to journalists after a meeting with stakeholders at the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB).
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. “The board had talked to all stakeholders including owners, journalists and employees about it and came to the conclusion that the wage board should be declared in September,” he said.
The minister said the meeting also focused on inclusion of the electronic media in the wage board structure.
The next meeting of the wage board will be held next Sunday.
