3-yr-old girl 'raped by neighbour' in capital

A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her adolescent neighbour at Jhawchar in the capital's Hazaribagh area on Sunday afternoon.

Hazaribagh police yesterday sent the girl to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for medical tests after her father filed a case.

Police arrested the accused, a 15-year-old boy.

The girl went to the roof around 5:00pm when the accused was flying kite there. The teenage boy then took the girl in the attic and raped her, read the case statement.

The girl's family came to learn about the incident after she complained of pain in her genital area.
