3 killed in road accidents
At least three persons, including a higher secondary certificate (HSC) examinee were killed in separate road accidents across the country yesterday.
In Jamalpur, Shipon Aktar Sunil, a HSC candidate was killed in a collision between a battery-run auto-rickshaw and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Melandah upazila, police said.
The incident also injured Zebunnahar, another HSC candidate who was taken to a local hospital by locals.
In Madaripur, transport worker Ali Chokder, 60, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital after a speeding bus ran him over at Natun Bus Stand area in Sadar upazila, police said quoting locals.
Meanwhile in Sylhet, Bilal Ahmed, 35, was killed after being hit by a Sylhet bound truck in Jaintiapur upazila, reports our local correspondent.
Police have detained the driver and his helper.
