3 ‘drug peddlers’ arrested in Ctg

Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers along with a pistol, sharp weapons and yaba pills from Chittagong city’s Barishal Colony area early yesterday.

The arrestees are Md Hanif alias Khokon, 35, Kazi Abdullah, 28, and Khokon Kumar Das, 32, said police.

A foreign-made pistol, four rounds of bullets, three machetes and 623 pieces of yaba pills were seized from their possession, said Md Shah Md Abdur Rauf, additional deputy commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (south division).

“Among the arrestees, Khokon Kumar Das was the driver of Md Faruk Hossain alias Baitta Faruk alias Kala Faruk who was killed in a gunfight with Rab-7 at Barishal Colony on October 20 last year,” he added.

A case was filed with Sadarghat Police Station.
