2nd phase of Biswa Ijtema starts today

Muslims have already gathered at the Biswa Ijtema venue on the bank of the Turag in Tongi of Gazipur to attend the second phase of the three-day congregation, which begins today.

This year, people from 32 districts are taking part in the ijtema in two phases. The Muslims from 16 districts including parts of Dhaka took part in the first phase and the devotees from another 16 districts including parts of the capital are participating in the second phase. The second phase ends on January 22. The first phase concluded on January 15.

People from Dhaka, Meherpur, Lalmonirhat, Rajbari, Dinajpur, Habiganj, Munshiganj, Kishoreganj, Cox's Bazar, Noakhali, Bagerhat, Chandpur, Pabna, Naogaon, Kushtia, Barguna and Barisal are taking part in the second phase.
