21 Jamaat, Shibir men remanded

A Chittagong court yesterday placed 21 Jamaat and Shibir leaders and activists on one-day remand in a case filed under the anti-terrorism act with Kotwali Police Station on December 16.

The court of Metropolitan Magistrate Al Imran gave the order after they were produced before the court, said Additional Deputy Commissioner (Prosecution) Nirmalendu Bikash Chawakrabarty of Chittagong Metropolitan Police.

Earlier, Kotwali police arrested the men from the city's Laldhigi area for allegedly plotting subversive activities.
