The injured -- Rasel, 24, and Mamun alias Surja -- received treatment at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, said Sub-Inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of the police outpost at the hospital.
Armed with sticks, iron rods, and other weapons, the two groups of BCL, the student front of ruling Awami League, were locked the clash over establishing supremacy on the campus, police said.
Sounds of several gun shots were heard and chase and couter-chase took place during the clash, witnesses said. At least seven motorbikes were also torched during the clash, they said.
On information, police rushed the spot and brought the situation under control, said Maruf Hossain Sorder, deputy commissioner (Ramna Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
