2 Ashkona militants’ wives remanded
A Dhaka court today placed two female members of a militant outfit on a seven-day remand each in connection with a case filed over the Saturday’s raid at a militant hideout in Ashkona of Dhaka’s Dakkhin Khan.
The two female members are: Trisha Moni, wife of the militant outfit “Neo JMB” leader Maynul Musa, and Jebunnahar Shila, widow of Major (retd) Jahid alias Murad.

Metropolitan Magistrate Meher Nigar Suchona passed the order after Inspector Saidur Rahman of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the DMP produced them before the court with a 10-day remand prayer for each.
In the remand prayer, Rahman, also the investigation officer of the case, said that the two women are active members of “Neo JMB” and they were involved in creating subversive activities.

They are needed to be remanded to find out others fugitives responsible for making an attempt to commit such offences, the IO said.
No lawyers for the two female militants were present at the court.
They were carrying two children on their laps.

Trisha with a four-month-old daughter and Jebunnahar with a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter and a 9mm pistol and six bullets surrendered during the anti-militant operation codenamed “Ripple 24”.
