17th convocation of East West University held

The 17th convocation of the East West University was held on its own campus in the capital's Aftabnagar on Thursday.

A total of 1,840 students were conferred on degrees including three who received gold medals for their outstanding academic achievements, said a press release.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid presided over the ceremony.  Prof Emeritus of Dhaka University Dr Anisuzzaman was the convocation speaker. Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson of the EWU board of trustees, and Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Dr MM Shahidul Hasan also spoke.
