(VIDEO) Challenge Accepted: Japan to fight a ROBO Duel with US
It might seem straight out of a Sci-Fi action film but its happening. Robot fighting, which was thought as a completely far-fetched idea, is now becoming reality. MegaBots, a US giant fighting mecha-robot builder, is going to fight its Japanese rival for the first ever robo-supremacy in a few months. MegaBots co-founder Matt Oehrlein while making the announcement said: "All of us at MegaBots grew up with these video games, movies, and pop culture featuring giant robots. It's kind of like this really goofy childhood fantasy that a lot of people identify with because it's so ridiculously sci-fi, and it seems like something that could never really happen in our lifetime, but everyone likes to imagine themselves being one of these giant robot pilots."
Japan has already accepted USA's challenge to engage in world's first giant robot battle in history. Suidobashi Heavy Industry, builder of Japanese robo-monsters, accepted the challenge and added a one more condition — melee combat should be allowed! Suidobashi founder Kogoro Kurata, while accepting the challenge, exclaimed: "Yeah, I'll fight. Absolutely! We can't let another country win this. Giant robots are Japanese culture."
