MakerFest campaign to be held in BUET today
Make-A-Thon 2016, an 68 hour long contest for innovation, has taken its show to the roads and is making its next stop at Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology on the 17th of May, 2016, Tuesday. Organized by The World Bank and BetterStories Ltd., MakerFest at BUET is following MakerFests at BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology, Bangladesh Agriculture University, Khulna University of Engineering & Technology and Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology. HiFi Public is the Communication and PR partner of the event.
MakerFest, a festival of knowledge workshops and showcases leading to the Make-A-Thon 2016, aims to bring aspiring innovators and industry experts under the same roof and create accessibility to resources and tools that can take their work and production to new heights. The latest MakerFest at Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology is bringing local problems to the forefront as speakers, experts and students get ready to discuss solutions and innovative changes with technology and research. MakerFest at BUET is part of an extensive campaign set in universities all across Bangladesh to mobilize innovative initiatives for the Make-A-Thon 2016, an intense 68 hour long competition that aims to bring talented innovators together and create an awareness of fabrication labs. The contest and the campaign have been designed to implement the Academic Innovation Fund by The World Bank and HEQEP that will allow universities to apply for funding to set up fabrication labs in their campuses.
