Postal Department receives Tk 4.5cr revenue from Nagad
The Bangladesh Postal Department has received about Tk 4.5 as revenue from Nagad's earnings in fiscal year 2021-22.
Md Shafayet Alam, executive director of Nagad, handed over a cheque to Md Khalilur Rahman, secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division, at the latter's head office in Dhaka's Agargaon yesterday, a press release said.
Bangladesh Postal Department is entitled to get 51 per cent of the revenue earned by Nagad as per the agreement. The remaining 49 per cent will go to the mobile financial service provider.
Nagad handed over revenue amounting to Tk 1.12 crore in 2019-20 while it was Tk 3.31 crore in financial year 2020-21.
Mustafa Jabbar, minister for posts and telecommunications, Md Harunur Rashid, director general of the postal department, and Tanvir A Mishuk, founder and managing director of the mobile financial service provider, were present.
