Four injured as fire breaks out at jute mill in Khulna

At least four people sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out at Jaman Jute Mill Corporation in Khulna's Digholia upazila on Sunday.

The injured were identified as Aslam, Rabiul, Akash and Helena, all jute mill workers.

Officer-in-Charge of Digholia Police Station Ahsanullah Chowdhury said one of the injured was sent to Dhaka in severe condition.

Digholia Fire Service In-charge Masud Parvez said the fire started at noon and spread rapidly.

Four units of firefighters doused the flame after one-and-a-half hours of frantic efforts, he said.

Md Ripon Molla, deputy general manager of the mill,  said they lost jute and machines worth around Tk 50 lakh.
