Daffodil–Startup Market for aspiring entrepreneurs
According to International Labor Organization (ILO), more than 200 million people are unemployed worldwide where 10 million are youth. Some experts have predicted that entrepreneurship will be the best solution to unemployment.
As a young graduate it's not easy to be an entrepreneur. To address the initial difficulties of young entrepreneurs, Daffodil International University is holding Daffodil–Startup Market every Thursday at the university premises.
The first Daffodil–Startup Market was inaugurated by Shyam Sundor Sikdar, Secretary, Ministry of ICT and Professor. Dr. Golam Rahman, Pro-VC, Daffodil International University on September 25, 2014. Thirty entrepreneurs with 22 shops participated at the event.
The idea of Daffodil–Startup Market is very simple. It is similar to traditional haat. If you are a student, and have innovative products or services, the market welcomes you to create your own shop. You have to pay a very small fee for the space. The market owner will not take any profit. The profit will stay with the market for further expansion.
The market will offer several trainings for entrepreneurs to explore their creativity. In addition an entrepreneur can get real life experience on how to convince customers; how to sell, buy and know the limitations.
The inter and intra-university market
will hopefully bring unlimited
scopes to create the students' own
business collaborations.
