BTCL cuts internet price by 42pc
The state-owned telecom operator Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Ltd (BTCL) has slashed the dedicated internet price by 42 percent to Tk 2,800 for 1 megabit per second.
The company has also slashed all the other retail internet bandwidth prices significantly which will be applicable from April 1 with 15 percent extra value added tax charge, said in a press statement of BTCL.
According to the statement, the unlimited internet package users have to pay Tk 450 for 256 kilobits per second (Kbps), Tk 750 for 512 Kbps, Tk 1,150 for 1024 Kbps and Tk 1,600 for 1500 Kbps speed.
At the same time, the subscribers of different volume based data users will also enjoy double data, such as 2 GB users will get 4 GB with the same Tk 300 (256 Kbps speed), 5 GB to 10 GB with Tk 500 (512 Kbps) and 12 GB to 25 GB with Tk 1,000 (1024 Kbps), said the statement.
