Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy turns 40
Marking the 40th anniversary (February 19) of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), a two-day celebration programme began yesterday at the open premises of BSA. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, MP graced the occasion as chief guest while first Director General of BSA, Dr. Mustafa Nurul Islam inaugurated the colourful programme.
Secretary to the cultural affairs ministry, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Biswas, ndc, eminent writer Syed Shamsul Haq, eminent artists – Mustafa Monwar, Qayyum Chowdhury and renowned theatre personality Ramendu Majumdar were present as special guests on the occasion.
Director General of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky presided over the inaugural programme.
Apart from discussions, the event featured a vibrant cultural programme coupled with an acrobatic show. The second day's event also featured a cultural programme together with an acrobatic show.
Besides, celebration programmes are on at all the 64 District Shilpakala Academy premises simultaneously. Celebrating the glory of 40 years, a yearlong celebration programmes has got underway.
