Bangladesh girls trounce UAE
Bangladesh thrashed United Arab Emirates by 6-0 goals in their second match of the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship Qualifiers at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today.
The hosts, who kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 win over Jordan on Wednesday, dictated terms from the beginning and went for the breather with a comfortable four-goal lead.
The girls in green scored two more in the second half to complete the rout.
Sanjida Akhter and Bipasha Mali scored twice apiece while Krishna Rani and Lipi Akhter scored the other two.
The win took the hosts top of the table with six points, alongside favourites Iran, who defeated India 2-1 earlier in the day.
Bangladesh will take on India in their next match on Sunday.
One team from this five-team group will qualify for the eight-team final round which will be held in China in 2015.
