Russia to publish book on Hasina
A Russian science academy will publish a book on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in different languages.
The Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences will publish the book as part of its initiative to print such books on leaders who are changing the world, said academy chief Dr Vitaly V Naumkin.
He informed the PM about this during a meeting with the premier at her office on Sunday morning.
PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.
Naumkin said his organisation will publish the book in different languages including Russian, English, Arabic and Bengali. The academy has already published a book on former Malaysian premier Mahathir Mohammed.
The Russian science institute chief paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Recalling the visit of Bangabandhu to Russia in 1974, Naumkin said he worked as an interpreter during the trip of Bangabandhu.
The PM looked back on the unequivocal support of Russia during the Liberation War in 1971. She also remembered the massive contributions of the Russian government to rebuild the war-ravaged Bangladesh.
On Bangladesh's tremendous achievements in various fields, Hasina said she has been working for people's welfare to materialise the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
PM's International Affairs Adviser Gowher Rizvi, Principal Secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad, Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim, Vice President of Marketing and External Relations of Irkut Corporation, Russia Dr Vladimir N Sautov and Charge d' Affaires of the Russian embassy in Dhaka Anatoly Y Davydenko were present, among others.
