Vietnam PM, Myanmar president greet Hasina

The president of Myanmar and the prime minister of Vietnam yesterday congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her party's landslide victory in the 11th parliamentary polls.

Myanmar President Win Myint, in a congratulatory message, wrote, “May I extend my best wishes for the continued economic development, peace and prosperity of Bangladesh during your third consecutive term in premiership.”

He also expressed his belief that the friendship and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries would be strengthened through joint efforts despite all the challenges.

Myint also said he wished to work more closely with Hasina in addressing common challenges to the mutual benefit of the two countries.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated Hasina for her reappointment as the prime minister for a third consecutive term.

“It is my firm confidence that under your able leadership, the Bangladeshi people will acquire more achievements in the cause of national construction and development,” he said in a felicitation message.

He hoped for the further promotion of friendly relations and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries.
