Six killed as three wheeler, truck collide

Six people were killed and five others injured when a truck rammed a human haulier from behind last night on Jhenidah-Kushtia highway in Shailkupa, Jhenidah.

Those who died and got injured were mostly construction workers, said Officer-in-Charge Jahangir Alam of Shailkupa Police Station.

Identities of the victims have not been confirmed yet, he said, adding that the injured were taken to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital.

The people carrier flipped over after it was hit at Madandanga Bus Stand area, and another truck rammed it within moments, the officer added.

A bystander said the second hit was the hardest.

The workers were returning home from Abdalpur, Kushtia.

Medical Officer Rezona Parvin of Jhenidah Sadar Hospital said four of the victims were admission to the hospital and three of them were in critical condition.
