Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked Dhaka for making an "excellent arrangement" during his March 26-27 state visit.

"I write to convey my thanks for the excellent arrangements made during my recent state visit to Bangladesh," he wrote to Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, a foreign ministry press release said here yesterday.

Modi visited Bangladesh to join the grand celebrations marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee of Independence. He also held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

"I would also like to congratulate the Bangladesh government for flawlessly organising the spectacular celebrations on March 26 to mark 50 years since Bangladesh's liberation as well as the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman," Modi wrote.

The Indian premier also recalled his meeting with Momen. "It was a pleasure to exchange thoughts with you during the visit."
