Khaleda’s fever under control

BNP Chairper-son Khaleda Zia's fever is now under control and she will recover within a day or two, party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said yesterday.
The government is depriving her of better treatment, Fakhrul said while paying tribute before the grave of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman.
"The Awami League is destroying the state's democratic system intentionally," he said, adding that the ruling party is ruining political environment.
The BNP leader called the entire nation to be united to "recover democracy".
After testing negative for coronavirus 20 days ago, Khaleda developed fever on Thursday night.
Khaleda, 76, has been undergoing treatment at the capital's Evercare Hospital since April 27.
Fakhrul alleged that the AL has shun the path of democratic politics which paved the way for communal and extremism in the country.
"The Awami League is very cleverly and in a planned way destroying the democratic institutions. They are paving the way for flourishing communalism and extremism in the country," he added.
The BNP leader also alleged that freedom of expression was snatched away and repressive measures were taken to gag the people's voices.
Fakhrul, along with party leaders and activists, placed wreaths at party founder Ziaur Rahman's gave. Later, they distributed food among the destitute in 19 points in the city.
