Former Ducsu VP Nurul Haque Nur has been accused in a case of hurting religious sentiments of Awami League activists and supporters and defaming the party with his derogatory comments in a Facebook live session on April 14.

Barrister Md Ashraful Islam Shojib, member of Jubo League Central Committee, filed the case under the Digital Security Act against Nur with Shahbag Police Station yesterday, said Officer-in-charge Mamun ur Rashid.

According to the complaint, Nur spoke on Facebook live around 4:37pm on April 14 and hurt religious sentiments of Awami League activists and supporters.

Nur called supporters and leaders of the Awami League "fake Muslims", it added.

The video link was shared and posted from a large number of Facebook accounts, Ashraful said in the case statement.

The plaintiff also demanded bringing the accused and his associates or supporters under the law.
