Police recovered the body of an 18-year-old college girl near Airport Railway Station in Dhaka around 7:30am.

The body was stuffed inside a travel bag, Officer-in-Charge Yasin Faruk of Kamalapur Government Railway Police (GRP) told The Daily Star.

Deceased Akhi was a student of Pallabi Mohila Degree College, her uncle Nurul Islam told The Daily Star.

Akhi's parents have been living in Mauritius for the last four years.     She used to live with her uncle in Mirpur-12 area.

She left her home around 11:00am on Saturday after receiving a phone call and had been traceless since, Nurul said.

The family filed a missing person case with the local police station yesterday morning.

Her relatives identified the body at Dhaka Medical College morgue yesterday afternoon, morgue sources said, adding that she might have been strangled to death and that they had found evidence of rape.
