2 stabbed to death over playing badminton

Two college students were stabbed to death and one sustained injuries in an attack over playing badminton in Shahpara of Haluaghat in Mymensingh yesterday evening.

The victims were identified as Akash, 21, and Sourab, 22.

Quoting locals, Md Kamrul Islam Miah, officer-in-charge of Haluaghat Police Station, said two groups of local youths had an altercation over playing the game on Friday.

The youths had a brawl yesterday evening too. Around 7:30pm, one group began stabbing members of the other indiscriminately, leaving the two critically injured.

They were rushed to Haluaghat Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors declared them dead, police said.

Injured Shunya, 20, is undergoing treatment at the health complex, said the OC.

Police are yet to identify the killers.
