At least 10 garment workers were injured as a fire broke out in a sweater factory in Tongi of Gazipur yesterday.
The fire erupted at SS Sweater Ltd housed on the third floor of an eight-storey building around 4:30pm, said fire service sources.
Nine fire engines doused the flames after around one and a half hours of frantic efforts.

A portion of the floor was burnt by the fire, damaging garment materials, including thread and some machinery, he added.
Ismail Hossain, officer-in-charge of Tongi Police Station, said some 10 workers were hurt when they were coming out of the factory hurriedly.
They took first aid.
However, the amount of loss caused by the fire could not be known immediately.
Nurul Islam, deputy commissioner of Gazipur, told The Daily Star that a five-member probe committee had been formed to investigate the fire incident and submit its report to him within seven working days.
