Sabbir to hit a century soon

Popular singer Sabbir of Close up1 fame has donned the hat of a music director, a role that has won him acclaim. The artiste is currently working with six singers, including former Close up 1 stars Ronty Das and Rashed.
Other singers include Laila, Mukta Biswas, Ruma and Prema. Sabbir -- who has worked on many such ventures, said: “After working on a few more songs, I will have directed 100 songs. I am very happy with this achievement.”
Sabbir further added that he would like to carve out an identity in music direction. However, the artiste is keeping the wheels turning in his singing career, and has begun work on a new solo album. The album includes song numbers directed by himself. The singer is also busy with playback singing, having recently recorded a song for a film titled “Bhromor,” helmed by Sohel Arman.
The singer is also making regular stage and television appearances. “This is the season for stage performances, which will go on for the entire month. Performing on stage allows me to directly communicate with the audience, and watch their reactions,” he stated.
Sabbir's first recognition as a music director came when singer Rashed won in the Best Vocalist category at a competition organised by Benson and Hedges. The song, titled “O ChaaNd Keno Aaj Akashey Jotsna Chhoraley”, was written and directed by Sabbir.
