Berklee College of Music starts A R RAHMAN SCHOLARSHIP
Berklee College of Music in Boston, US, has instituted a scholarship programme in musician A R Rahman's name.
The Oscar winner said that he was overwhelmed by Berklee College of Music's scholarship which will fund one Indian student studying any discipline — jazz, western, western classical or Carnatic or Hindustani.
"We want this institution exchange to open minds and create magic," said Rahman at an event held at his K M Music Conservatory on Friday to announce the scholarship programme.
The students of Sunshine Orchestra -- a music education programme for underprivileged children at K M Music Conservatory -- were also honoured during Friday's event.
