Intense “Justice League” teasers ramp up the hype
By the look of things, this is going to be a huge year for DC films. Not only will Patty Jenkins' “Wonder Woman” debut this summer to give Diana Prince (played by Gal Gadot) an opportunity to take center stage, but Zack Snyder's “Justice League” will give DC's biggest and best team its first chance to assemble on the silver screen. With everyone in anticipation of the new trailer set to drop tomorrow, two new teasers – one focusing on Batman, the other on The Flash -- arrived yesterday. As with the Aquaman teaser released recently, they all have the same title – “Unite The League”.
Clocking in at a mere fifteen seconds in length, the Batman teaser manages to pack in a serious dose of intensity. It's vintage Batman, as seen in “The Dark Knight” brooding on a gargoyle. There's even a quick shot of Gotham's favorite hero violently facing off against a horde of Parademons with his trusty Batmobile -- which somehow seems to have more guns on it than the last time it was seen.
The Flash teaser, as expected, zooms by faster than anyone can pick up details. Flash's super-speed is the usual highlight, but it also shows a transition from Barry Allen to the full in-gear Flash.
Although not much is known about the plot of “Justice League”, but the quick glimpses in this teaser points that the film will borrow liberally from the 'New 52 Justice League' origin story. With the forces from Apokolips barreling down on Earth, Batman and Wonder Woman will recruit the various superheroes from Lex Luthor's (Jesse Eisenberg) meta-human registry to protect the planet from an intergalactic threat. The Parademons already showed up once during the Knightmare sequence in “Batman V Superman”, so Bruce Wayne has finally started to realize that his worst fears may be coming true.
Ben Affleck has also released a poster to accompany the Batman teaser as well.
Between the three teasers, it's beginning to become apparent that DC is going to make sure each hero gets a moment in the spotlight. Each of the released teasers has concluded with the Justice League heroes standing shoulder to shoulder, and fans can expect even more of that imagery as the film's marketing campaign ramps up closer to its release.
“Justice League”, Zack Snyder's superhero epic will debut in theaters on November 17.
