National Human Rights Theatre Festival ends today
With the theme “Jagi Drohe, Mukto Pran-e”, the three-day (December 8-10) long 11th National Human Rights Theatre Festival 2017 began on December 8 and will conclude today at Rabindra Sarobar, Dhanmondi.
A total of 20 theatre troupes from different districts of the country are performing their plays at the festival. The plays encompass many social, political and human rights issues.
Milon Kanti Dey, President, Bangladesh Jatrashilpa Unnayay Parishad, inaugurated the festival, organised by National Human Rights Theatre Council. Veteran cultural personality Kamal Lohani presided over the programme.
A rally was organised yesterday. Starting from Central Shaheed Minar, the rally ended in front of the National Museum, Shahbagh.
The council will honour three eminent personalities -- artist Mustafa Monwar, human rights activist Sultana Kamal and teacher-organiser Amir Ahmad Chowdhury Ratan today at the festival venue.
